세계기록유산 /폴란드 /폴란드 국가교육위원회 기록물 [National Education Commission Archives] 1773년~1794년 사이에 폴란드에서 만들어진 기록 및 문서 컬렉션인 「국가교육위원회 기록물(The National Education Commission Archives)」은 국가교육위원회(NEC, Komisja Edukacji Narodowej: KEN) 활동의 산물이다. 국가교육위원회는 폴란드 공화국 세임(Sejm, 하원)의 임명을 받아 통일되고 완벽한 커리큘럼과 조직적인 개념에 따라 교육 체계를 전반적으로 개혁해갔다. 이 개혁은 당시에 국가 정체성의 씨앗을 뿌리며 폴란드 전역에 꾸준히 도입되어 사회적·정치적으로 결정적인 영향을 미쳤으며, 유럽은 물론 동시대 세계 전 지역에서 유례가 없는 일이었다. 기록과 문서에는 그 구상과 수행 방법, 조직의 체계와 사용 자원 등 시행되었던 개혁의 모든 면이 나타나 있다. NEC의 혁신적 개혁은 ‘교육은 공익(Education is public interest)’라는 슬로건에 잘 나타나 있다. 폴란드 국가교육위원회는 세계 최초의 ‘교육부(Ministry of Education)’였다.
